Running from March Madness!

Ain't nothing like the great outdoors to ease your soul. Ain't nothing like the great outdoors to keep you from growing old!

This is true.....so this week we were meant to start running.
The plan was to go for an evening jog for some exercise
but this week has brought nothing but rain
so, instead I decided to DRAW myself running
sadly, this will not get me fit
but it was fun

This drawing isn't finished- work in progress

Feb/March update

So, I have been eager to visit as many new places as I can, to discover this new city and revisit places Id been to on my holiday here (2 years ago). Until this week, the weather has been pretty good and last weekend the suns unexpected appearance enabled us to see Deep Cove in all its glory

A hockey game at Rogers Arena, saw the Canucks take a 5-1 victory against the Calgary Flames. Jack and I, kitted out in our new jerseys had a great time at the game, soaking up the atmosphere at half time, chanting loudly and having a taste of the match beer that is filled from the bottom up. Jack has been waiting nearly 10 years to see a live hockey match as he has been into the Canucks for a while now, and according to him, the experience was well worth the wait!

A few days after watching the hockey we are itching to have a go on the ice.
Richmond ice rink proves to us just how hard ice skating can be

Some cool houses I saw off Main Street

 Vintage shop with funky/friendly owner

This wonderful man with his cowboy hat and fantastic beard
A Mexican themed night we had, with sangria,
nachos and burritos (made with yves vegan mince, so yummy)

and several evenings spent by the Steveston coast,
watching the sky turn magical hues of pinks and blues

Bunny

This is a playboy bunny illustration I did a few months ago. I only got round to painting it yesterday, and scanned it in today. Im not as crazy about pastel colours as I once was, but still thought they were a nice choice for this little pic!

February images

These are some of the images I collected in February.
Ive joined pinterest, which is where the room decor images come from

The room below is where I would like to get married.
Id never been one to plan or imagine my wedding, I just know this room is somewhere I would love to go for dinner and spend an evening...and if I were to plan my wedding I would love it to have this Parisian art deco theme. I am loving the Green and Golds

Hey Buddy!

I made this illustration a few weeks ago. I have been feeling like using green alot in my work so set this one outside again. This time a Canadian mountie with a wacky smile, stands in front of his white horse. I have yet to see a Canadian mountie in the flesh, I am told I will when I visit one of the mountains. Canadians are renowned for using the expression 'buddy'. I have noticed many people using it and its a friendly, fun phrase that suited my mountie.

Valentines House

Little late...but...
When I visited main street a few weekends ago, I saw this cool house.
Really enthusiastic about festive decor, we can see the remaining snowmen and christmas lights, who are now joined by valentines decorations.
The old houses around main street were incredible. They felt authentically Canadian, with dark wood and large porches.

Bobs

Some funny signage in 'Bobs Submarines', a cafe in Richmond

Red Riding Hood

I wanted to bring some more green into our room so decided to do a painting involving plenty of grass, woodland and trees. I decided Red Riding Hood was a perfect little illustration set in a forest, that would be easy to complete and nice to research for. I want to edit the drawing in photoshop but for now this is the finished piece.
I have been pretty busy the past 3 weekends and will have many photos to upload/report on soon!
