Christmas preps

My cat Toulouse and I by our tree
He doesn't like his photo being taken which is a shame
My little niece Lola- her first christmas

For her christmas gift I painted her a picture to hang in her bedroom. Her bedroom was going to be painted light green so I used colours to completment. Lola has red hair so I gave the girl similar hair
Below, me in my christmas jumper with the framed painting

Lets hope Lilttle Lola likes it

Lana Del Rey

My favourite video from 2011. Beautiful song also
so sad. so dreamy
Video Games- Lana Del Rey

Heaven is a place on earth with you

Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls Honey,
is that true?

Born to Die
Come and take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
You like your girls insane
Choose your last words

Baby Jane Hudson

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Part 2

Continuing my post about me dressing up as Bette Davis in ‘whatever happened to BabyJane?’, here are some more photos. The first 4 are me as Bette Davis.

Below is one that turned out quite flattering- which was not what I was aiming for
this one looks more like the younger Jane with the soft lighting and serene expression

These last 4 are more about ‘my interpretation’ of Baby Jane. I took off the blonde wig and used my auburn hair to make the baby Jane character my own. I like the flat blue tiles in our bathroom. I am not used to wearing so much make-up but liked the feeling of a mask it gave me.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Part 1

Ok, so this film has been my favourite for about a year now -not only is it ridiculously wicked but it introduced me to the fabulous Bette Davis.

Above: the real Bette Davis in full costume during the film.

I woke up with black eye make-up from the night before and it reminded me of Baby Jane. Poor tragic Jane with her heavy make-up and little girl ringlets. I decided to make the most of my panda eyes and dress up as Baby Jane. I already had a blonde wig and frilly dress- all I needed was some thick red lipstick and a love heart shaped beauty spot. I was meant to be writing my Christmas cards today but I spent my time dressing up and taking photos...oh dear

Below is me without the wig but still with the make-up
bear in mind- I don't look haggard usually

Etiquette for the becoming lady

This is the vimeo link to the student film I made in my 2nd year at LCC studying animation

I did the artwork with the colour pallette inspired by Coppola's 'Marie Antoinette'. I love pastel colours. I also wrote the script, using the etiquette handbooks of the 1900s as subjects in which to parody. I love characters like Miss Fanny- inspired by actresses such as Goldie Hawn. Ciselle Fung, my classmate and friend did the animation for the film. She helped me learn After Effects and worked as a specialist with the program. Eva, was our producer and also helped with animation.

Ive always been more in love with the past than the present. I miss the days of courtship and chivalry but didn't want to make a film that simply dwelled on a forgotten time. We can laugh at the dated rules of romance and ridiculous stereotypes of men- but also realize how innocent people were back then.
Nowadays when it comes to dating, its sad how little innocence there is.

Review of my student film

Check out this cool review for my 2nd year student film 'Etiquette for the Becoming lady'. Lauren Shipman totally got the films message and seemed to enjoy the humour! Great response
