These 3 days featured my favourite things: the seaside, comedy, music and plenty of laughter! Starting at the Brighton Fringe Festival, CSI Crime Scene Improvisation returned to the Quadrant for 2 more sell out shows. Saturdays show was set in a boutique hospital where I played a patient with chronic boils and Sundays show featured a murdered bee keeper.
Completely out of character for me I forgot to bring I.D resulting in me being asked to leave a pub at 9pm as 'minors were not allowed past this time'. The rest of my group tried persuading the bouncers I was in fact 27 but they insisted the minor must leave. I wasn't insulted. We found somewhere else nicer anyhow. On the train journey back to London I convinced a man Sarah was a judge. It started off fun but then he ranted about his hatred for the legal system....
On Monday 16th I saw 'The Vaudevillians' at the Soho Theatre with my old friend Sam. Sam knows Jinkx Monsoon so we were able to spend time with her after the show- she's incredible! Jinkx played Kitty Witless an intoxicated Vaudeville starlette who'd been frozen alive since the 20s. Her warbling, cackling, meowing Kitty was a delight to watch as she flung herself across the stage, writhing on the piano and purring on the chaise lounge. Jinkx was my favourite drag queen from 'Ru Pauls Drag Race' from the moment she entered season 5 in the big floppy hat. Her energy live is contagious, you cant help squeal with delight as her character turns from sweet to malicious.
Its always so nice when someone you've admired on tv turns out to be so fantastic in real life
